Trenton Makes Music Now! Music Technology Academy

The Summer Academy for Music Technology

The Music Tech Academy is based on a current 300 level course IMM Trenton Makes Music. Music Tech focuses on the creative aspects within musical and technical disciplines through explorations of the rich musical legacy of New Jersey’s Capital City, providing an inspiring backstory for their own creative work. Students will use and learn a variety of resources for musical production in the Art & Interactive Multimedia Building, including our professional-quality Recording Studio and Computer Lab equipped with Logic Pro X and Ableton software.

Students will compose their own songs, learn to make beats, and layer tracks with signature sounds that they can share afterward. Students will learn to apply technical knowledge and skills to the composition, recording, synthesis, and performance of music. Students will learn new ways of thinking about themselves and their own creative possibilities.
